Privacy

We only request access to your Google email address and basic profile information to identify you and personalize your experience. We do not request access to your contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google services beyond authentication.

We use Managed Neon Auth for account authentication and session management. Session cookies are HTTP-only and server-validated. Magic links are delivered by email, and phone verification codes are delivered through the configured SMS provider. Loc-Geist does not store plain-text passwords.

Sighting reports you submit become part of the Loc-Geist research archive. Submissions include user-provided location data, timestamps, and descriptions. Your operator ID is attached to submissions but your personal email is never publicly displayed.

We may collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the platform - such as page visit counts and feature usage. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is never sold to advertisers.

Self-service account deletion disables Loc-Geist account access and starts a one-year recovery window. A one-time recovery code is emailed when deletion is requested; if the account is not recovered during that window, the account record is permanently purged. Submitted sightings may remain as identity-unlinked research records. Separate privacy-right requests may be sent to human@loc-geist.com and are handled under the timelines and requirements that apply to the request.
